Commends BEST for trainings

National President of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Iyalode Alaba Lawson has commended the leadership of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) for embarking on legacy projects that will stand the test of time.

 

The NACCIMA President who paid a visit to the secretariat of the Chamber expressed joy at the positive and Midas touch the leadership of Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, CON, SAN has brought to bear on the activities of the chamber within a record time.

Accompanied by the Director General of NACCIMA, Amb. Ayoola Olukanni, she was conducted round the ultra modern gigantic office complex, the Convention Center and the Business Entrepreneurship Skills and Technology (BEST) center, by the Director of Abuja Trade Center (ATC) who is also the Acting Director-General of the Chamber, Mrs. Tonia Shoyele.

According to the Head of Media and Strategy at the Chamber, Mr. Lubem Gena, shortly after inspecting the training facilities at the BEST Centre, she expressed satisfaction with the structures put in place and the schedule of courses, the quality and quantity of facilitators as well as trainees that have so far undertaken courses in various fields.

 

“It is not a surprise to me that this place has taken its rightful pride of place in chambers movement in Nigeria and indeed the sub-region, even beyond. I have absolute confidence in the abilities of the two gentlemen men that have particularly made these monumental achievements a huge reality.

“I am talking about Prince Adetokunbo Kayode and Prof. Adesoji Adesugba who are the President of the Chamber and Provost of BEST Center respectively. They have never failed in anything they lay their hands on. I am deeply proud of them.

“When I came here in September for the 2017 Abuja International Trade Fair, they told me that the new leadership of the chamber was going to vigorously pursue and ensure the execution of these projects. I gave them my blessings and today, I am overwhelmed with the level they have taken this Chamber to.

“It is therefore my honour and privilege to call on all Nigerian businessmen operating in the territory to join the chamber and embark on the trainings offered by this Chamber. It is for the overall development of our dear country. And it is therefore everybody’s responsibility to place all hands on the deck to move the country forward.

“The quality of work I have seen at the ultra modern office complex, the BEST Center, Convention Center, Policy Advocacy Centre (PAC) and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center have marveled me”, The NACCIMA President added.

 

Responding, Mrs. Shoyele commended the NACCIMA President for finding time out of her very tight schedule to visit the chamber and commended her for the work she is doing at the umbrella body.

She emphasized that there is a new focus and dimension in handling the Chamber’s affairs which have accounted for the milestones recorded.

She painted the picture of better days ahead.

Also adding her voice, the Director of BEST Center, Victoria Akai expressed gratitude to the President for the visit pointing out that the kind words received from her has made the sky their springboard.

She informed that, so far, over 470 people have been trained in various aspects of starting up, business management, accounting, bankable proposals, pre and post retirement business ideas, among others.

According to her BEST has partnered reputable organizations like UNIDO, HP, Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI), Microsoft and export promoters, just to mention a few, to deliver on its man a date.
