In a recent Statement released by the President and CEO of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Jessica Walker on Union Square Tech Hub, she stated that she fully supports the proposed Union Tech Hub, which would be a boom to the city’s well deserved reputation as a leader in innovation and technology.
she also stated that the city’s tech sector is valued at more that $71 billion and contributes high skills jobs to residents throughout the five boroughs. she futher stated that to expand the contribution, the hub will support job training, sustainable employment opportunities and access for new yorkers of all backgrounds to the technology industry.
she added that the location chosen for the union square tech hub will bring it into close proximity to tech companies, disruptive startups and other key businesses, and it will help catalyze economic growth and good paying jobs in the union square area.
“we urge the City Council to look past any bad-faith objection from special interests and move forward with this key project as soon as possible so that New Yorkers can make the most of the myriad benefits it offers.”
