The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu has called for the NLNG Limited to expand its Liquefied Natural Gas production capacity to 40 million tonnes per annum over the next 30 years.
He said this is to enable Nigeria gain ground significantly in the global share market. He stated this on a visit to the NLNG Plant based in Bonny Island, Rivers State. His visit to the plant was to survey how ready NLNG is ready for a new train construction to increase production output.
The Minister went on to talk about President Buhari’s plan of having 12 trains NLNG and how plans are just in place for the 7th. He implored them to work in the space of 30 years to get the 8th train running.
The Managing Director NLNG, Mr. Tony Attah motioned for the support of the federal government in addition to that of NNPC which equals the support of the most important shareholders.
