FEWACCI president visits ECOWAS commissioner for private sector development

The President of the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI),  Mr. Essohouna Meba has paid a courtesy call to Mr. Mamadou Traore, Commissioner for Industry and Private Sector Promotion at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) headquarters in Abuja.h

According an insider, the fraternal and convivial discussions focused on: the Sealink Project, status of implementation and prospects; functioning of the FEWACCI secretariat and the statutory meetings of the FEWACCI scheduled for this year including the Bureau Meeting and the Elective General Assembly.

Other areas discussed during the visit were “proposed organization of the ECOWAS Business Forum on the state of implementation of regional integration as seen by the private sector as well as the official visit of the FEWACCI office and all chambers of commerce to the President of the ECOWAS Commission.

Commissioner Traore was delighted to have had these exchanges with the President of the FEWACCI, which allowed the two parties to plan future actions for the strengthening of the regional private sector.
