The new Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) reforms are taking shape and will only get better if the tempo is maintained. The Service are set to launch a Digital Addressing System (DAS), Address Verification System (AVS) and an eCommerce shipping API.
Elsewhere, the Postmaster General/ CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Barrister Adebisi Adegbuyi, had hinted that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will launch the Digital Addressing System for effective parcel delivery across the country.
The Digital Addressing system, according to NIPOST, will enable the postman to locate the customer anywhere in the country, and also assist security operatives in having a well-detailed address of Nigerians so that perpetrators of crimes will be easily apprehended.
This implies that every home in Nigeria will have its digital address.
Meanwhile, NIPOST has extended invitation to stakeholders to attend a conference holding in Lagos on Friday with the theme, “Addressing Critical Challenges in e-Commerce Identity, & Security Management, Courier and Last Mile Delivery”.
Similarly, the National Bureau of Statistics report shows that post and courier services under transportation and storage GDP grows by 19.24% in Q2 2018 compared to 3.14% in Q1 2018 & 1.14% in Q2 2017.
