The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘A’ with headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, intercepted various contraband with Duty Paid Valued (DPV) of N2,017,953,507, between September 4 and October 3, 2018.

Mohammed Alitu, the Area Controller of the unit who disclosed this during a press briefing in Lagos yesterday, said some of the seized items included 22 exotic vehicles, bullet proof cars, 11,303 bags of foreign parboiled rice ( equivalent to 18 trailers), 2410 cartons of frozen poultry products, 853 jerry-cans of vegetable oil,245 parcels of India hemp, 4x40ft containers of unprocessed wood, 2017 bales of used clothing, 283 cartons of various pharmaceuticals, which were without NAFDAC registration number among others.

As it was recorded by the  customs boss that nine of the cars were bullet proofs.

He said some of the cars were intercepted inside a bush in Idiroko axis of Ogun State, while others were seized during raids in some car shops in Lagos.
