The Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma SAN, has commended the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators for her different interventions in different sectors of the Nigerian economy, in mainstreaming Mediation and Peaceful Dispute Resolution as a preferred means of dispute resolution in Nigeria.
He stated this when he received in audience a delegation of the Governing Council of the Institute led by Chief Emeka J.P. Obegolu FICMC, FCIArb, who came to congratulate him on the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on him.
In his congratulatory message, Chief Obegolu recalled the various reforms introduced by Prof. Chiroma in Legal education in Nigeria, from the University of Maiduguri to his pioneering efforts as Deputy Director General of the Nigerian Law School Yola campus, where he led the introduction of the Law Clinic into the curriculum of the Nigerian Law School.
The Director General, in response, thanked ICMC for the visit and recalled twelve years ago when he joined the Institute and stated that since the twelve years since he has joined the Institute has witnessed tremendous growth in programmes, interventions and membership.
He commended the President for his leadership initiative and said he is looking forward to the 2018 ADR Conference of the Institute which will hold 3rd December, 2018.
