Usman Adangara, FCT FADAMA Coordinator, said FADAMA is committed to providing more capacity building supports for farmers through various project.
The Project focuses on the increment in the number of FCT rural farmers who commercialise farming through training and input support to ensure food security.
In his words, “The objective of the projects is to support clusters of farmers in communities across the FCT on a sustainable basis for productivity.”
“And the criteria for selecting participating households are based on their motivation, commitment and willingness to provide beneficiary contributions.” He said.
He added that the project would enhance linkages between farmers, agro-dealers and processing firms to develop contracts for quality output.
Adangara, however, called for the training of rural farmers on mechanised farming to improve food production adding that it would enhance employment and food security to boost the economy.
