Leader of the delegation, Mr Dirk Danino-Forsyth said he was very pleased to meet the President and other NEC members who, through ATCON’s advocacies, have grown the telecom and ICT sector in a remarkable manner.
He said that the government of the United Kingdom is interested in growing the Nigerian telecom and ICT sector further and that is why they were sent by the government to ascertain the status of connectivity, digital inclusion and cybersecurity in Nigeria.
In his response, President ATCON, Mr Olusola Teniola, appreciated the UK Government for deeming it fit to crosscheck the real situation of things with respect to the aforementioned focus of the meeting.
He said both the regulator and the players in the industry are doing their best but the support of the UK government would make the country to realize its goals for the industry.
ATCON promised to work with them on ensuring that there is connectivity, expanded digital inclusion and mitigation against cyberattacks in the country.
