Introductory Gemology, Gems grading and Identification training underway in Abuja

A training organised by Gemological Institute of Nigeria (GIN) in partnership with the Abuja Chamber if Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Business Entrepreneurship Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre is underway in Abuja.

This is the first of its kind in Nigeria.

The training tagged: Introductory Gemology, Gems grading and Identification is aimed at rigorously taking participants and dealers in gemstones through, how to identify gemstones, grade gemstones, gem properties understanding, use of gemology tools and much more.

The classes which started on Monday is to last till 26th November 2018.


During today’s outing, Anna Momoh, the GIN DG and a Graduate GIA certified Gemologist calibrated GIN equipment for the training.

Also facilitating is Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, the Provost of BEST Center.

By this initiative, the organisers ACCI are taking the lead in skills development in the gems and Jewellery sector.
