The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) began trading in the month of February on a positive note. The All Share Index closed at 30,636.36 basis points. Year to date, the index is down 2.53%

Top Gainers and Losers 

UACN was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 9.52% to close at N9.20. FCMB was next appreciating by 9.14% to close at N2.15. Fidelity Bank rounds up the top three gainers of the day. The stock added 9.09% to close at N2.40.

On the flip side, Union Diagnostics and Clinical Services was the worst performing stock today. The stock shed 10% to close at N0.27. Cornerstone Insurance was next, declining by 9.09% to close at N0.20.  Sunu Assurances also fell by 9.09% to close at N0.20.

Top trades by Volume  

Guaranty Trust Bank was the most actively traded stock today. 65.2 million shares valued at N2.1 billion traded in 221 deals. FBN Holdings was next with 28.2 million shares valued at N209 million traded in 188 deals. Transcorp Holdings rounds up the top three most actively traded stock today with 23.5 million shares valued at N29.6 million shares valued at N163 million.
