Nigerian multinational telecommunications company, Globacom, has publish a system-wide 100-Gigabit-per-second upgrade to its Glo 1 submarine cable.
The sole reason for advancing to 100G wavelengths, is to enable the company convey high-performance and cloud-based connectivity to its company and web-based customers. The advancement is expected to provide speed, capacity quality and capacity to the service.
Globacom is also investing in more path redundancy for the Glo 1. This will mean spreading the network’s capacity over multiple cables so in case of a fiber cut, the network will continue to run smoothly.
The telecommunication company is also looking forward to enhancing its network efficiency nationwide.
