Breaking: Prince Kayode, Prof. Adesugba, Gadzama, others named into ICMC Governing Board

The Governing Council of ICMC has approved the appointment of prominent personalities such as Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, CON, SAN; Chief J. K. Gadzama, SAN, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, Chief Arthur Obi Okafor, SAN, Justice Abubakar Yahaya, JCA, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN; Inuwa Abdulkadir, Life Bencher, HRH Igwe Charles Nwoye, Golden Tamuno, Esq; Prof. Isaac Albert; Prof. Ogugua Ikpeze, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro; Adekola Olawoye, SAN and others as members of the Governing Council of the ICMC.
This was part of the resolutions reached at the 3rd quarter Council meeting which held on the 22nd of September 2019 at the J.K. Gadzama Court, Garki 2, Abuja.
The President of the Institute, Chief Emeka Obegolu, in his welcome address thanked Council members present for their continuing sacrifice in attending the meeting of the second-highest decision-making body of the Institute.
He also commended the efforts of the branch chairmen in ensuring that their branches continue to conduct trainings and pursue the vision of ICMC.
Prince Kayode is a corporate lawyer, tax expert and international arbitrator.
He has attained the highest rank (Senior Advocate of Nigeria) and the highest honor (Life Bencher) that a lawyer may attain in Nigeria.
Also, he served the Government of Nigeria variously as Culture and Tourism Minister; Labour and Employment Minister; Attorney General and Justice Minister and finally as Defence Minister.
In addition, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration, UK; Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria; and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
He studied Law at the University of Lagos, Strategic Leadership at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Strategy and Public Communications at the (World Bank/ Annenberg Program) University of Southern California, as well as Strategic Negotiations training at Harvard University.
He equally has Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration of the Chartered of Institute of Arbitrators (UK). He has also undertaken several courses organised by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), International Chamber of Commerce (Paris) and the Swiss Arbitration Association.
He is a litigation specialist in corporate and constitutional law.
As an Arbitrator, he has conducted several arbitral proceedings and has also acted as Counsel in arbitral proceedings.
He served at various times as member Council of Legal education, Federal Judicial Service Commission and the National Judicial Council and Presidential Council on Good Governance.
He is in Council of the National Associations of Chambers of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture of Nigeria (NACCIMA) where he is also the National Deputy President Ex-officio; the D8 Chamber of Commerce and Industry (D8-CCI); Vice President of the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) based in Addis Ababa.
He chairs the Board of Trustees of NASSI, the National Association of Small Scale Industrialist as well as the Nigeria Private Sector Alliance (NIPSA).
Prince Kayode is on the Board of several companies in Power, Hospitality Agriculture, Mining and Technology. Kayode owns and still runs his legal, finance and tax consultancies.
He holds the Nigeria National Honors of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) as well as the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) of the Republic of Liberia.
He is currently the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry where he is working to reinvigorate SMEfunding and drive public private re-engagement for the diversification of Nigerian economy.
Professor Adesoji Adesugba on the other hand is the National Legal Adviser of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Vice Chairman of Council of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Dispute Resolution Centre.
Professor Adesugba is on the Faculty Board of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) and lectures mediation and Conciliation at the Institute.
He was the Chairman of the Industrial Arbitration Panel, a Federal Government of Nigeria Parastal for the settlement of industrial disputes, and a Director at the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC).
Professor Adesugba is a Fellow of the ICMC, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK), and a member of the Houston Maritime Arbitration Association (USA). Professor Adesugba holds a Doctor of Business Administration (Summa Cum Laude) from the California Southern University USA, LL.B Law from the University of Lagos and BL from the Nigeria Law School, an MSc in Investment Promotion from the Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, and an MBA from the Ogun State University.
He also holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK), and a certificate in International Commercial Arbitration from the prestigious Columbia University New York.
