The President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Prince Adetokunbo Kayode has declared that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between NTPower Nigeria Limited and Energomera of Russia has the capacity to develop Nigerian economy.
Prince Kayode who is also the President of Nigeria-Russia Business Council (NRBC) made this public in Lagos over the weekend shortly after signing the MOU with the Russian electricity meter production giant during the Future Energy Exhibition.
According to him, the event is also one of the direct benefits of the dividends that accrued to Nigeria from the just concluded Russia-Africa Business Forum.
“Today has marked a significant milestone in the economic relations between Nigeria and Russia.
“This is a very important development for the growing power sector of the Nigerian economy especially since a specialised manufacturing plant will be developed to take care of this critical component of our electricity system.
“This event is also particularly significant because it has added impetus to the efforts of the private sector to contribute meaningfully towards the economic development of Nigeria.
“By this MOU too, we have signified and solidified efforts to create wealth for the nation using production related activities that will put our vibrant youthful population to work”, Prince Kayode stated.
Prince Kayode signed on behalf of NTPower and Vitaly Onischenko signed on behalf of Energomera.
Energomera is a recognised leader on the Russian market of electricity meters and metering system and produces over three million meters annually.
