Former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Aliyu Idi Hong, Publisher of Sahel Standard magazine, Mallam Olawale Rasheed and many others were on Tuesday elected into the executive and council membership of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) at its 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Dr Hong was elected Vice President Diplomatic , International affairs, Strategy and Public Sector Affairs while the Sahel Standard publisher was elected into the ACCI Council in addition to his position as the Coordinator of ACCI Policy Advocacy Centre (PAC).
Also elected was Dr. Sijuade Kayode as Vice President Commerce and Bode Thompson as a Council member.
Aside newly elected officials, some existing vice presidents changed portfolios in line with ongoing reorganization at the chamber. Those in this category include Dr. Johnson Somadina Anene elected as Vice President Mines from Commerce; Chief Jude Igwe for Vice President Industry from Media and Strategy; Mrs. Rose Nwosu for Vice President Women Development from Mines; Prof. Adesoji Adesugba retained his position Vice President for Information and Communication Technology, Skills Development with addition responsibility for Digital Economy.
Alhaji Usman Balarabe Vice President Finance was re-elected into the office at the AGM.
The oath of office was administered on them by the President of the Chamber, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, CON., SAN during which he appreciated their efforts in taking the chamber to greater heights.
