NACCIMA discuss border closure and impact on businesses with Comptroller General of Customs

A delegation of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) led by its National President, Hajia Saratu Iya Aliyu today paid a courtesy call of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) during which the border closure issue took central part of the discussion.
Also discussed was the need to integrate the Organised Private Sector (OPS) in order activities of the Customs.
NACCIMA National Legal Adviser, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba who was among the delegation explained the essence of the visit in an exclusive interview with Chamber Telegraph.
“Issues discussed included the border closure as it affects businesses.
“It was agreed that NACCIMA will work with Nigeria Customs to sensitize Nigerian businesses on Customs procedures.
“Customs also agreed to host NACCIMA on their technology platform to ensure that fake Certificates of Origin are not used by exporters.
“It was a very useful meeting for both parties”, Prof Adesugba stated.
