ODUACCIMA partially closes secretariat

In view of the pervading coronavirus disease (COVID-19)pandemic which has created unprecedented health and social emergencies, the management of the Odua Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ODUACCIMA) has announced the decision to partially close its office.

 

 

This announcement was contained in a statement signed by its Director General, Mr. David Awotipe and made available to Chamber Telegraph.

 

 

The statement adds that, the decision was taken after due consultation and become necessary as part of efforts to contain the outbreak and not to expose the members and staff of the chamber.
The rest of the statement reads:

“After due consultations, it has become imperativefl for usal at ODUACCIMA to take the following proactive decisive actions for the continued safety of our members.

 

 

“All meetings, gatherings, conferences, events, etc are hereby postponed until further notice.

 

 

“This immediately affects the Cross-Learning event for presidents and DGs organized by PERL/DFID and scheduled for Friday, 26th March, 2020 which has now been closed-off.

 

 

“The secretariat will remain partially shut while continuously monitoring the situation and pass on information to members through electronic platforms.

 

 

“Members are enjoined to comply with preventive directives and advice from international agencies, federal and state governments and agencies.

 

 

“In as much as possible, members are to implement directives relating to restricted travelling, social distancing, quarantine, hand washing, use of alcohol-based sanitizers, etc.

 

 

“Members who are in health, pharmaceutical and food businesses that are still open for operations are advised to scale up the production, but do so in accordance with necessary safety conditions.

 

“We will be in continuous contact with NACCIMA head office and other relevant bodies for necessary guidance and useful information on palliative measures to reduce the impact of Covid-19 which will be passed on to members as they become available”.
