As part of the efforts to cushion the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in collaboration with the Gemstone Miners and Marketers Association of Nigerian (GMMAN) has taken palliative materials to the doorsteps of the People Living With Disabilities (PLWD) in Karamajiji, a community on the Abuja Airport road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The donation was made by Mrs Tinuke Temitope on behalf of the National Coordinator of GMMAN, Prof Adesoji Adesugba.
Mrs Temitope also sensitized the women on the importance of maintaining proper hygiene and taking all protective measures to keep themselves and families safe.
The donation is part of the association’s contribution to the vulnerable to enable them maintain proper hygiene.
The Yerima of the community, Salihu Hammanjida, an active member of GMMAN, and other community chiefs received the items on behalf of the village head. Items includes, hand sanitizers, toothpaste, soaps, amongst others.
Salihu expressed gratitude to the associations for coming to their aid in this time of need and also ensured the items are successfully distributed to women living with disabilities.
