NNPC Board: Abuja Chamber of Commerce commends presidency

President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Prince Adetokunbo Kayode has commended the Presidency for sustaining a process of equitable distribution of federal appointments with the recent constitution of the board of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC).

In a statement issued in Abuja, Prince Kayode noted that the composition of the NNPC Board is in line with the 1999 Constitution and fair representation of the six geo-political zones of the country.

“This is a positive development and I commend the new Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari for instituting silent reforms, under approval of Mr President, to the ways and manners the Presidency operates. The new NNPC Board is a signal to all worried Nigerians that their concerns have attracted the due attention of Mr President.

“Nigeria is a complex nation, demanding delicate inclusiveness and balancing of multiple interests. This process has commenced and I urge further action in that direction. I particularly congratulate the new Chief of Staff as he faces daunting task of fine tuning the internal processes for public responsiveness under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Those who genuinely know Professor Gambari will attest to his nationalistic outlook, his in-depth experience about Nigeria, his administrative acumen and the depth of his interest in the well being of the nation. The Organised Private Sector (OPS) expects more of such balancing inclusiveness to take the nation to greater heights”, he noted.
