The Arahah Women Market, an i
nitiative of Women Arise Development Humanitarian Initiative (WADHI) in Partnership with Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) will be launched in November.
The Director General of ACCI, Victoria Akai disclosed this on Wednesday during a meeting with the Convener of WADHI, Esther Eghobamien-Mshelia, and other members of WADHI at the Chamber’s Secretariat.
The Arahah Farmers Market is a market where farmers, especially women producers and sellers can come to sell things at a discount rate. It is aimed at providing the women a ready market to sell their produce to both food processors and consumers.
The DG assured that a booth will be dedicated at the upcoming 15th Abuja International Trade Fair to sensitise women seeking more information about the market, its importance and why they should join.
The DG who proposed Saturdays for the market stressed that over time the market will be segmented.
She also suggested that Non-governmental Organizations that support women activities will be brought in to support the process.
