Power Sector Chiefs to Speak at ACCI Webinar on National Mass Metering Programme

Top leaders of the Nigerian power sector led by the Presidential Adviser on Infrastructure , Hon Ahmad Zakari are billed to speak at the webinar on the National Mass Metering Programme organised by the Policy Centre of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The programme billed to hold this Thursday between 11 and 1pm has Mr Zakari as the Keynote Speaker and the Chairman of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Agency , Engr Sanusi Garuba and his counterpart, the Managing Director of Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, Engr Peter Ewesor as strategic speakers.

Also delivering papers are the Technical Representative of Siemens for Africa as well as representative of Association of Nigerian Electricity Distribution Companies. The there of the webinar os : ” National Mass Metering Programme: Progress and Challenges.

The Chief Host is the President of ACCI, Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar while the closing remains is to be delivered by the Director General of the ACCI, Ms Victorial Akai. Other ACCI leaders expected at the event are the First Deputy President, Mr Emeka Obegbolu, the second Deputy President, Prof Adesoji Adesugba, vice-presidents, council members and heads of ACCI centres.

Speaking on the forthcoming programme, the director of ACCI Policy Centre (PAC), Olawale Rasheed who is the moderator said the webinar is “a policy review programme designed to assess the level and dimension of implementation with a view to address loopholes and hitches.

” We have assembled all the top officials involved in the implementation process. We also have the Discos on Board. Importantly , we have consumer bodies. Already we have Recieved many questions which our speakers will full address.

” The ultimate goal is to come up with a webinar report containing actionable recommendations on reinforcing the good and correcting the bad in the implementation process. We assure all participants that this will not be a mere talkshow”, he said.
