She said the goal is to establish tourism, heritage, hospitality and the creative economy as a second sustainable economic pillar for Bonny.
Nwokejiobi described “Discover Bonny” as a strategic tourism and investment framework that will connect investors, communities and development partners, with plans for a private-sector-driven tourism centre.
She said the initiative aligns with Nigeria’s emerging “Orange Economy” and will showcase Bonny’s cultural, historical, ecological and industrial assets to investors and tourists.
Nwokejiobi attributed the vision to King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, who has promoted Bonny as more than an energy hub. She noted that major corporate stakeholders, particularly NLNG and Renaissance Africa Energy, are supporting efforts to turn the vision into practical programmes.
The August 18–20,2026 summit is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to explore opportunities and position Bonny as a sustainable, globally competitive tourism destination.
