Abuja Tech Week Targets Digital Investment, Smart-City Growth.
Event to connect investors, innovators and technology firms with emerging opportunities in Abuja
ABUJA — The 2026 Abuja Tech and Digital Economy Week (ATDEW) is set to strengthen investment opportunities in Nigeria’s technology sector by connecting investors, innovators and technology companies with emerging development opportunities in Abuja.
Chairman of the ATDEW Steering Committee, Andrew Abu, said the initiative would provide a platform for market-ready innovations to meet capital, infrastructure and commercial opportunities, while helping to position Abuja as a leading destination for technology and smart-city investments.
The event, which is part of the fourth edition of the Technology Ecosystem Dialogue (TED), is themed “Energising Smart Mobility: Powering Cities of the Future.”
According to the organisers, the programme is designed to deepen collaboration among government, investors, technology companies, startups, academia and other stakeholders as Nigeria seeks to accelerate digital transformation and build more sustainable cities.
Abu said the initiative would go beyond showcasing technological innovations by creating practical pathways for investment, commercialisation and deployment.
He explained that stronger connections between innovators, infrastructure providers and investors were critical to transforming ideas into commercially viable products and services capable of generating jobs and supporting economic growth.
The programme is also expected to promote access to venture capital, private equity, incubation, mentorship and commercialisation opportunities, while encouraging the development and deployment of locally developed technology solutions.
A key component of the initiative is the National Innovation Challenge, through which selected innovators are expected to gain access to technology infrastructure, incubation and other forms of support to help move promising ideas towards commercialisation.
The organisers also plan to use the event to facilitate dialogue between government and the private sector on policies and interventions that can reduce the cost of doing business and create a more supportive environment for technology enterprises.
ATDEW 2026 will feature an exhibition, an Investor Deal Room and an investment forum focusing on areas including smart mobility, clean energy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure.
The event is expected to attract policymakers, investors, startups, technology companies, development partners and other players in the digital economy.
The Abuja Tech and Digital Economy Week is being driven by Young Innovators of Nigeria (YIN) in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Abuja Chapter.
The organisers say the broader objective is to strengthen Abuja’s position as a hub for innovation, investment and technology-driven economic development while creating stronger pathways for Nigerian innovators to access markets and capital.
