CAC Plans AI-Powered Corporate Registry to Improve Business Registration
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its corporate registration and regulatory processes to improve efficiency and ease of doing business in Nigeria.
The Registrar-General of the CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, disclosed this at the Commission’s 2026 Annual Retreat held in Bauchi, with the theme, “AI at Scale: Advancing an Intelligent Corporate Registry for Efficient and Trusted Service Delivery.”
Magaji said the Commission is working with Google and its partners to deploy AI that will allow customers to interact with CAC in English, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Pidgin, receive instant compliance guidance and potentially complete registration within minutes.
He added that the technology would help reduce manual processes, detect errors and fraudulent activities, improve data accuracy and guide users through registration.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, commended the CAC’s digital transformation, describing AI adoption as a major step towards improving corporate governance and the ease of doing business.
He urged the Commission to ensure that the technology is secure, inclusive and accessible to entrepreneurs across the country.
The CAC Board Chairman, Senator Ibrahim Ida, also commended the Bauchi State Government for hosting the retreat, while the Emir of Bauchi, represented by the Wazirin Bauchi, praised the Commission for its role in business formalisation and strengthening investor confidence.
