ASACCIMA Uses Radio Platform to Promote Delta’s Ease of Doing Business Initiatives.

The Asaba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ASACCIMA) has introduced a radio programme designed to inform residents of Delta State about government policies, initiatives and interventions aimed at improving the business environment.

The 30-minute programme, “ASACCIMA Half Hour,” is broadcast every Monday on Trend 100.9 FM, Asaba, at 10:10 a.m. The initiative was introduced by the Acting President of ASACCIMA, Hon. Peter Okolie, to provide business owners, Chamber members and the wider public with useful information on measures being implemented by the Delta State Government to address challenges affecting businesses and economic productivity.

Speaking on Trend FM, Okolie said the idea for the programme was inspired by a workshop where he learned about the existence of the Small Claims Court in Delta State. He explained that the court provides a simplified avenue for resolving certain business disputes involving claims below ₦5 million without necessarily requiring the parties to hire lawyers.

According to him, learning about the initiative highlighted the need for a platform that would make important government interventions more accessible to the public, rather than limiting such information to ASACCIMA members.

The programme also provides information on government efforts to ease financial pressures on businesses, including measures addressing multiple taxation. It further highlights initiatives aimed at reducing delays in accessing essential government services, such as statutory land documentation and Certificates of Occupancy (C of O).

ASACCIMA has encouraged business owners, entrepreneurs and members of the public to listen to the programme regularly to stay informed about government policies and interventions designed to promote a more business-friendly environment in Delta State.

In one of the editions of “ASACCIMA Half Hour,” Mr. Efe, a representative of the Delta State Ministry of Trade and Investment, joined Hon. Peter Okolie as a guest. The discussion was moderated by the programme’s host, Anthony Belushi, alongside the co-host and Acting Director-General of ASACCIMA, Mr. Iwemdi Nwaham.
