NITDA, NACCIMA Sign MoU to Accelerate Digital Transformation of Nigerian Businesses.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen collaboration on digital transformation and strengthen the role of technology in driving business and economic growth in Nigeria.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of GITEX Nigeria 2026 at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, by NITDA Director-General/Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, and NACCIMA National President Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, FNSE, FAEng., mni, OON.

The partnership brings together NITDA’s expertise in technology development, digital policy and innovation with NACCIMA’s extensive network of businesses, investors, Chambers of Commerce and other organised private-sector stakeholders across the country.

The MoU is expected to strengthen public-private sector collaboration and promote the adoption of digital technologies that respond to the evolving needs of Nigerian businesses and industries. It also provides a platform for closer engagement between government and the private sector on policies, innovations and initiatives aimed at improving the business environment.

For Nigerian businesses, the partnership is expected to create greater opportunities for access to digital solutions, technology-driven initiatives and capacity-building programmes, while encouraging enterprises to leverage digital tools to improve efficiency, productivity and competitiveness.

The agreement further reinforces NACCIMA’s role as a bridge between government and the business community, enabling its network of Chambers and enterprises to contribute more actively to conversations and initiatives shaping Nigeria’s digital economy.

The partnership is also expected to support increased technology adoption, stimulate innovation, enhance business competitiveness and create new opportunities for investment and enterprise development.

The NITDA–NACCIMA partnership reflects the growing recognition that Nigeria’s digital transformation must translate into tangible economic opportunities for businesses and citizens. By bringing government capabilities closer to the needs of the private sector, the agreement seeks to strengthen the connection between digital innovation, enterprise development and economic growth.

A digitally enabled private sector will be critical to improving productivity, expanding businesses, creating employment opportunities and strengthening Nigeria’s position in the global marketplace. The partnership is therefore expected to contribute to efforts to build a more productive, competitive and investment-friendly business environment.

The agreement comes at a time when Nigeria is pursuing an ambitious economic transformation agenda, including the aspiration to build a $1 trillion economy. Achieving such a target will require increased investment in technology, innovation and infrastructure, as well as a strong and globally competitive private sector.

The NITDA–NACCIMA MoU therefore represents an important step towards deepening cooperation between government and the organised private sector, with both institutions positioned to harness digital technology as a catalyst for business growth, innovation and sustainable economic development.
